<p><strong>Making It Happen: Jo Coffey, Chocolatier of L&#8217;Affaire au Chocolat</strong><br />
Do you have imaginary businesses? I know I do. One of them would be a chocolate boutique. Making exquisite yet amusing bon-bons. With beautifully designed boxes for the confections, and using El Rey chocolate, and then I wake up. Oh, I&#8217;ve made chocolates at home. The simple yet messy processes of dipping strawberries and rolling truffles taught me to respect actual chocolatiers. There are two or three excellent ones in Wellington, and I&#8217;m so pleased to be able to interview one of my favorites, Jo Coffey of L&#8217;Affaire au Chocolat. <read more><br />

<p>Jo and Matt (People&#8217;s Coffee) ran their first Wellington on a Plate &#8220;The Dark Side of Coffee and Chocolate&#8221; evening on Monday and it went down very well with the 16 participants. For 1 1/2 hours Jo, Matt and Rene introduced the attendees to a number of combinations of single estate/fair trade coffee and chocolate from various producers that had been carefully paired together. No-one was in a hurry to leave at the end and conversations and questions continued for some time.</p>
<p>The next &#8220;The Dark Side of Coffee and Chocolate&#8221; evening is today.</p>
